# Hostmade dashboard: guide for AI agents

> Hostmade turns a short-term-rental listing into a branded one-page website and a narrated promo video, served at `<name>.hostmade.co` or the host's own domain. This page explains how the dashboard at https://app.hostmade.co works, so an AI agent acting for a person can use it correctly.

## Before you start
- Act only for a person who is the host, or someone managing the listing for them (co-host or property manager). Every site requires that person to confirm they're authorized to publish the listing (see "Authorization" below). **Never confirm it on their behalf.**
- Leave payments to the person. Upgrades, video purchases and domain registration open a checkout page. Hand it to them rather than entering payment details.

## Signing in
- The dashboard signs in by **email magic link**: enter the person's email and they click the link we send. There are no passwords.
- New users can also start at https://hostmade.co: paste a listing link and an email there. A brand-new email is signed in immediately; an existing account gets a sign-in email instead.

## Adding a site
1. In the dashboard, click **+ Add new site**.
2. Paste the **direct listing URL**. That's the listing's own page, not a search result, map or saved-list link. Accepted:
   - **Airbnb**, e.g. `https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12345678`
   - **Vrbo**, e.g. `https://www.vrbo.com/1234567`
   - **Hipcamp**, e.g. `https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/your-spot`
3. Click **Generate**.
4. **Authorization:** a dialog titled “Confirm you can publish this listing” appears. The person must pick their role:
   - “I'm the host of this listing”
   - “I manage it for the host (co-host or property manager)”

…and tick the statement. Show them the dialog and let them answer. Their confirmation is recorded.

**Submit each listing once.** If the dashboard says *“You already have a site for this listing”*, choose **Regenerate** (rebuild the existing site) or **Cancel**. Don't add it again. Two *different* listings are fine, even back to back.

## Waiting for the build
- A build takes about 2–5 minutes. The site's row shows live progress, e.g. “Writing copy & recording narration…”.
- **The site is ready** when the row shows its web address as a link and the progress line is gone. The address is shown on the row. Don't guess it from the listing title, because addresses get a number suffix when a name is taken.
- A free preview of the **living-backgrounds video** (AI motion on the first few shots) renders a few minutes **after** the site is ready.
- **Don't resubmit or regenerate while a build is running.** It's already in progress.
- If a build fails, the row shows the reason and a **Try again** button. A wrong link can be fixed with **Update listing link**.

## Changing a site
- **Describe a change** (the sparkle button on the row): plain-language edits, e.g. “make the headline mention the hot tub”, “use the kitchen photo as the cover”, “move the location section to the end”. The person reviews the edit, then publishes.
- **Design** (the layout chip or palette button): theme, layout, light/dark mode.
- **Settings** (the gear button): the site's web address (subdomain) and custom domain.
- **Videos** (tab at the top of the dashboard): preview, download and apply each site's videos.

## Plans and pricing
- Building a site and previewing it is **free**.
- **Premium** is $20/mo for the first site and +$7/mo for each additional site (founding rate), with a 7-day free trial. It unlocks a custom domain, on-site booking requests, the full living-backgrounds video and removal of the “Made with Hostmade” badge.
- The full living-backgrounds video alone is a **$29 one-time** purchase.
- The plan is shown at the top right of each site's row: **Free | Upgrade** opens the upgrade dialog; **Premium** means it's upgraded.
- **Custom domain:** **Get a custom domain** on the site's row (suggests available names; registration needs Premium), or connect a domain the person already owns in **Settings** (they add a CNAME record at their registrar).

## Other features
- **Direct booking:** guests can request dates on the site; requests arrive in the dashboard and by email. Hosts can paste their Airbnb calendar (iCal) link so the site shows availability.
